TRAVEL AND VEHICLES
Travel, Fuel and Speed Calculators
Plan a journey using distance, fuel consumption, fuel price and average speed. These tools help compare routes and budgets while keeping traffic, stops, weather and changing fuel prices outside the estimate unless you account for them.

Top problems this category solves
What will a trip cost?
Combine distance, measured fuel consumption and a user-entered fuel price, then compare realistic route and occupancy scenarios.
How long will the journey take?
Use an achievable average speed and add stops, congestion and a buffer separately rather than using the speed limit as the average.
How do wheel or efficiency changes affect range?
Compare like-for-like units and treat vehicle, terrain, temperature and driving-style assumptions as scenario inputs, not guarantees.

Fuel economy
Calculate litres per 100 km and kilometres per litre from distance and fuel used.
Fuel economy8 L/100 km
Distance per litre12.5 km/L
Formula, source and limitations
Formula: L/100 km = litres ÷ km × 100; km/L = km ÷ litres
Planning estimate using entered values. Real routes, traffic, weather, charging/fuelling losses, prices and vehicle performance can differ.
Terminology
- Average speed
- Total distance divided by total moving time, not the highest speed reached.
- Fuel economy
- Distance travelled per fuel unit or fuel used per distance, depending on convention.
- Rolling circumference
- The distance a tyre travels in one theoretical revolution.
- Usable battery energy
- The portion of nominal battery capacity available for driving or loads.
Methodology
Keep scenario variables visible
Distance, consumption, price, charging efficiency and average speed remain user controlled because live traffic, fuel prices and vehicle telemetry are not fetched.
Treat real-world losses honestly
Weather, gradients, load, stops and driving style can materially change results. The tools present estimates and comparisons, not a promise of range or arrival.
Use realistic consumption
Real fuel use changes with speed, load, terrain, weather and driving style. A recent measured average is better than an ideal specification.
Average speed is not the speed limit
Stops and congestion lower the trip average, so a realistic journey estimate should not simply use the highest permitted speed.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use any currency for fuel cost?
Yes. Enter the fuel price in your chosen currency and the result remains in that currency.
Does trip time include stops?
No. Add planned stops and likely delays to the calculated driving time.
